The Teaching ProfessionWhat do you do to strengthen and improve the teaching profession?
I care. I care about my students. genuinely ask how they are doing, show compassion.
Be more than just an educator. Be a pillar of learning. I strive to be a pillar of inspiration that ignites ‘the spark’ in a student. I care. We can care. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. It just seems natural to try to be a better teacher. Better preparing yourself for an important lesson is a skill learned. I like to take the hi-tech road in most of my learning approach. Since I began teaching in 2004 I have volunteered time assisting many teachers with technology issues or questions in their classrooms and the ‘teacher workroom’. I have enjoyed every minute of it so far. Grove Public Schools undoubtedly has some of the most amazing teachers and staff in Oklahoma. Starting Fall 2012, students at Grove High School in Grove, Oklahoma will have BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) internet access between classes and at lunch; teachers managing their own classrooms. We have blazing fast Wi-Fi throughout the entire school building with a disclaimer before logon permitted. This in an inspiring time for a hi-tech guy like me who is now driving my dream car, the 2011 ChevVolt. - More about my Volt Here... In addition, You and my students, and the entire world can watch my screencast videos anytime, even on their phones or laptops at mrHuggins.weebly.com I want my students to have the opportunity to hear the missed lesson from any web enabled device even if they aren’t in the classroom that day. Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn. I feel lucky to be a teacher. I have the opportunity to impact so many lives every day. The reward of being a teacher is in the success of my students.
